Hailing from Donegal in Ireland, Jody Gallagher was a latecomer to the world of songwriting despite having spent most of his adult life as a professional musician. His story is similar to hundreds of others;
Jody started playing music at school and went on to join touring bands playing the dance circuit in Ireland and the UK. He began as bass player in a band called Pluto with his brother Paul. They became very popular over time covering everything that appeared in the Top Twenty. As needs dictated Jody moved to playing drums and eventually settled with keyboards and guitar.
Jody is still a professional musician today although he quit the touring circuit in the late 90s. Because of a lack of interest in modern music and a desire to try something different he turned his hand to writing his own songs. Success came through winning several song contests and having other artists record his work. Eventually he decided to take the plunge and record and release his own CD.
The result is Crazy Mixed up World, a collection of tunes that reflect Jodys interest in the world and all its failings.
He was aiming for a timeless sound and found it in the melting pot of blues and country. Listen and judge for yourself. With sharp lyrics and well crafted melodies this album never falters as it moves through its eleven tracks wearing its heart on its sleeve at all times.
In a world where trends change overnight, Jody believes this collection of songs will remain a constant source of inspiration and enjoyment for many years to come.
